Terms of Service
Last updated: July 7, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using CareRegistry (the "Service") at www.careregistry.us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Service Description
CareRegistry provides access to U.S. licensed healthcare-facility records aggregated from state health department licensing and certification agencies and the federal CMS Care Compare datasets, normalized into one REST API. Records reflect public facility-licensing and certification information only.
3. Account and API Key
Access to the API requires a valid API key obtained through RapidAPI or directly via www.careregistry.us. You are responsible for keeping your key confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the API to build applications, conduct research, and power internal or commercial data workflows, subject to your plan's rate limits. You may not:
- Resell or sublicense raw API responses as a competing data product
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, scrape beyond your quota, or reverse-engineer the service
- Use the data as a factor in establishing an individual's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other purpose covered by the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or an analogous law
- Use the data for unlawful marketing, including calls, texts, or email that violate the TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CASL, or applicable do-not-call rules
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
5. No Consumer Reporting (FCRA)
CareRegistry is not a consumer reporting agency, and the data provided through the Service is not a "consumer report" as defined by the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) or any comparable law. You may not use the Service, in whole or in part, as a factor in establishing any individual's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.
No Personal Information; Not a Data Broker
CareRegistry is a directory of licensed healthcare facilities, not a database of individuals. The data served through the Service is compiled from public government records and contains facility (organization) names, facility addresses, the facility's business telephone line, state license numbers, CMS certification numbers, facility types, operating statuses, and licensure dates only. We deliberately exclude and do not store any administrator, owner, or licensee personal names, or any personal (non-business) phone numbers or email addresses. Because we do not collect, store, or sell personal information about individual consumers, CareRegistry is not a "data broker" as defined under the California Delete Act or the Texas, Oregon, or Vermont data-broker registration statutes.
6. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe or RapidAPI. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.
7. Data Accuracy
Data is sourced from government records and processed automatically. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties regarding completeness, timeliness, or fitness for a particular purpose, and the data is provided "as is." Always verify critical information against the issuing authority's official record before relying on it.
8. Intellectual Property
The CareRegistry platform, API infrastructure, and derived data structures are owned by Nicolas Primeau. Underlying government records remain the property of their respective publishers (U.S. state health-facility licensing agencies and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and are provided as public records.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareRegistry and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amounts paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.
10. Modifications
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the website.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
